Just a quick reminder that my beads are available for purchase through my Etsy Store. If I don't have listed what you're looking for, please email me.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you to everyone who helped make the Puget Sound Bead Show successful. I had a great time, saw old friends and met some wonderful people; making new friends, too. I shared a booth with my friend Debora Cox of Facets-Designs from Portland. It was hot as the dickens; like FL hot as I remember all too well; for the first two days and when we went to check in at our hotel on the first night they informed us the air conditioner was broken. My heart sank, as we were exhausted and it was 9:30pm. Not a great time to start looking for lodging, but we found somewhere else to stay for that night and then things got back into order starting Friday. It was 3 full days plus an evening; quite a long show. We were glad to go and glad to go home when it was over. I have some new designs I'll do my darndest to get posted by this weekend. Here's a peek!

Thanks again-
~Kathy

I've been busy adding things to my Etsy Storefront and staying busy at the torch and with my new responsibilites with ORBS. We will have our February Meeting this Sunday at Aquila Art Glass in Portland. The meeting runs from 2pm to 5pm. Please join us if you'd like to learn more about lampworking or would like to network with local glass artists. Here is the announcement about the meeting.

February 21, 2010 Meeting

To start the year with a bang, we anticipated having a special teacher and speaker for February. There was such excitement at our meeting and hopes were high. Her plans ended up not working out with our schedule, so it may not happen until next year that she will be available to teach in Portland. We will keep trying though and would love to keep education at the top of our list of things to bring to you all. So, with that said

February’s Special Guest

“It’s All About You and Your Tools”

Join us for this month’s meeting at Aquila Art Glass School. It will be all about our favorite tools. If you have a special tool or mandrel that you just love please bring it to show and tell. We all have a unique style that may be a total surprise to our fellow bead makers. Show us what you use to make your special brand of beads. Also, please bring several rods of your own glass to play with any of the tools. We’ll have torches to use, just no glass. Make sure you put your name on your tools.

If you want to see a tool you don’t own, send me a request, I’ll make a list of the requests, and send it out to the group a week before our meeting. If anyone owns the tool, they can bring it to the meeting. We can all learn something new about tools to move glass. And, if you want to sell a tool, put a price tag on it. You might get lucky! I'd love to see new faces. In the meantime, I'll continue to add new work to my Etsy Store. Please be sure to see my Facebook page, and become a Fan for bead announcements.

This year has certainly started off with a bang. I'm the new president of the Oregon Regional Bead Society and we had our first Board meeting and General meeting last Sunday. The meeting was all about the members desires for the coming year and how we can make this into an educational, service and social group. So many great ideas were suggested. My brain is a bit in overload, but I know this will be fun. We all have the same love - glass!

I've been busy putting things into my Etsy Storefront, and will continue to add things as time allows. My goal is at least weekly. I've been getting to the studio daily so have new beads all the time. If you're looking for something special, and don't see it send me an email and I'll create just what you're looking for in your special colors.

I had a wonderful time at the Arts in the Forest show in West Linn, OR last weekend. It was great to make new friends and very inspiring to be around so many great artists. I'm off to the torch and hope to have new things listed tomorrow.

I've just returned from the Puget Sound Bead Fest. It was a great success and always fun to be with others that love beads. Thank you to all my customers. I'll be back at the torch today and will add new things  to my website or Etsy and Artfire Stores.

Thanks for checking in.
