February 21, 2010 Meeting

To start the year with a bang, we anticipated having a special teacher and speaker for February. There was such excitement at our meeting and hopes were high. Her plans ended up not working out with our schedule, so it may not happen until next year that she will be available to teach in Portland. We will keep trying though and would love to keep education at the top of our list of things to bring to you all. So, with that said…

“It’s All About You and Your Tools”

Join us for this month’s meeting at Aquila Art Glass School. It will be all about our favorite tools. If you have a special tool or mandrel that you just love please bring it to show and tell. We all have a unique style that may be a total surprise to our fellow bead makers. Show us what you use to make your special brand of beads. Also, please

bring several rods of your own glass to play with any of the tools. We’ll have torches to use, just no glass. Make sure you put your name on your tools.

If you want to see a tool you don’t own, send me a request, I’ll make a list of the requests, and send it out to the group a week before our meeting. If anyone owns the tool, they can bring it to the meeting. We can all learn something new about tools to move glass. And, if you want to sell a tool, put a price tag on it. You might get lucky!
